In
modern organisations innovation and continuous
improvement need to be the norm if they are to keep up
with their competition and the expectations of their
customers/clients and other stakeholders. But this process of continuous improvement and
innovation cannot simply be directed from the top. It
needs to come from all levels in the organisation and
above all it needs to draw upon the experience and
insights of all those who interface directly
with customers,
process and systems.
ProSeminar's
CHIMPS programmes are designed to harness the energy, creativity and commitment of
everyone working in the organisation developing a
culture of continuous improvement and provide a forum for the
development and presentation of ideas.
How it works
The CHIMPS
programme encourages everyone to take responsibility for
continuous improvement and bring forward their ideas . More importantly
it trains Champions for Improvement at every level in how to turn
a bright idea into a well structured business
case which
is more likely to be
taken up by management.
CHIMPS also
creates the structures to progress the case to the
appropriate level. While many good ideas need only the
agreement of the immediate supervisor or manager, others have implications which mean that the case has to be taken
further up the organisation before a decision can
be made.
-
A typical CHIMPS programme comprises:
-
A half-day management briefing session
-
A series of two-hour briefing sessions
to cover all appropriate staff
-
A series of half-day training sessions for the volunteer ‘Champions’.
(The number of sessions
involved depends upon the number of people to be
covered by the scheme.)
