Managing People & Performance is designed to help line-managers and supervisors
meet their key responsibilities to provide good management to
their staff - helping them to perform effectively with
enhanced job satisfaction. Emphasis is placed on taking a
pro-active approach to motivating and developing people and to
adopting appropriate and flexible management styles based on
the concept of ‘differential leadership’. Managing
People & Performance also
focuses on the central role of performance appraisal systems
and how line-mangers can get the best out of them integrating
them with their everyday management of staff.

Course Methods
Case studies and role-plays provide a framework for exploring
issues and reviewing skills. Managing People &
Perforfmance also makes use of
informal lecture, group discussion and training films.
Qualification
Participants may opt to follow
Managing People & Performance with further study and an
assignment leading to the CMI Level 5 Award 'Performance Management'.
